# How Users Are Added to a Verified Domain

Users with email addresses in a verified domain are automatically associated with the account that verified the domain.

Automatic user association works only after the domain is verified and activated.

Domain-based association links the user to the account. It does not grant account or mailbox permissions by itself.

### If the user already exists

Users who registered before domain verification and activation are linked to the account automatically. They keep their existing access rights to accounts and mailboxes.

### If the user registers after domain activation

Users who register after domain verification and activation are also linked to the account automatically, but they do not receive account or mailbox access automatically.

You as an Admin have to grant the required permissions separately.
