# Template List Page Overview

### What is a template list page

The template list page is the library of templates created by mailboxes.

The **My Templates** category of the current mailbox opens by default. The page displays all existing templates, as well as folders (if any exist within this category).

{% columns %}
{% column %}
In addition, there are five other categories accessible via the menu on the left side of the page.

Each category allows you to create folders and subfolders, which are displayed in an expandable tree structure.

2. Open **Account templates** to view templates with the **Account** access level.
3. Open **Official templates** to view templates with the **Official** access level.
4. Open **Shared with you** to view templates explicitly shared with the current mailbox.
5. Use **Community templates** to find templates with **Public** access via search.

Rename, delete, or move folders to any existing folder, or to a newly created folder.
{% endhint %}

### How template looks like

A template is the rectangle tile on the template list page, with the template name, access level, and creation date below the tile.

Each template has a preview for better user experience when searching or choosing a template to use. Use the star icon to add or remove a template from the **Favorites** category.

There are three types of template preview available:

{% column %}

1. **Default image of the template**

If a template contains only external documents, the system can’t use them as a preview, so in this case the preview of the template will be the default template icon.

2\. **First page of the document**

A template that contains at least one structured document or a PDF file will display a preview.
The system uses the first page of the first structured document or the attached PDF in the template as the preview.

Each template has its own menu that allows the following actions:

* Edit the template
* Copy the template UUID
* Add to favorites / Remove from favorites
* Clone the template
* Move the template to another category/folder
* Rename the template
* Delete the template
* Get a direct link to the template (under specific template settings)

### How to find a template

Search templates by **name** or **UUID**. If you’re looking for a specific template you created in your mailbox, use the search within the **My templates** category.

{% hint style="info" %}
Apply this approach to all other categories as well.
{% endhint %}

Navigate to the **Community templates** category to find templates with the **Public** access level.

{% hint style="info" %}
Depending on the template’s access settings, it may be found by name, by UUID, or only by UUID. You can read more about template access settings [here](https://docs.docstudio.com/en/master/pages/howToWorkWithPlatform/mainApplication/templateList/templateAccess/templateAccess.html#templateaccesslevel).
{% endhint %}

### Templates view options

Use one of these view options on the Templates page:

1. **Grid view** (default on desktop and tablet devices).
2. **List view** (default on mobile devices).

To switch between views, click the **Grid** or **List** toggle button. Once you change the view mode, your preference overrides the default setting and applies across all devices.

{% hint style="info" %}
The icon changes automatically depending on the current view.
{% endhint %}

Both views provide identical functionality and allows you to manage folders and templates.
